A striking Chinese silk embroidery depicting a bird perched among blooming peonies with a butterfly in flight. The fine needlework shows delicate color gradation in silk threads — shades of pink, blue, lavender, and gold — typical of Suzhou-style (苏绣 / Su Xiu) embroidery, known for its lifelike shading and soft luster.
The textile is bordered with a geometric meander border in blue and ivory, and a wider black silk edge embroidered with floral and scroll motifs. It is elegantly framed under glass in a gold-tone faux bamboo frame, popular for Asian-inspired décor during the 1950s–1970s.
