Description:
"Senate Bill Hopper" Mahogany Etagere - Smithsonian Institution. The original etagere was created and used between 1838 and 1846. At this time the government was debating on whether the United States should have some form of a national museum, library, observatory and what it should be called. The original etagere was made to represent the large amount of bills proposed on the bottom and how many actually became law at the smaller shelves on the top. This is a precise replica of the original. It features a single drawer and pull out writing table. There is some sun fading on one side and the back of a leg. Other than that, it's in spectacular condition. This is your opportunity to have a piece that connects to the history of the United States! Be sure to watch our walk around video.
