A lovely pair of antique red transferware saucers from the late 19th century, each beautifully decorated with birds in flight, butterflies, and flowering branches in the distinctive Aesthetic Movement style. The intricate red transfer design combines naturalistic imagery with ornamental scroll borders—an homage to the East-meets-West artistry that defined the era’s pottery.

Measuring approximately 5" in diameter, these petite saucers were likely part of a tea or breakfast set produced by an English pottery between 1875 and 1890. Their fine crackle glaze and soft ivory tone add warmth and depth, giving each piece a timeless, rustic charm.

Features:

  • Origin: Likely English, c. 1875–1890

  • Style: Victorian Aesthetic Movement

  • Pattern: Birds, butterflies, and blossoms with patterned border

  • Color: Deep red (mulberry) on creamy white earthenware

  • Dimensions: Approx. 5" diameter each

  • Condition: Good antique condition – light age-related wear and fine crazing; minor discoloration consistent with age.

Highlights:

  • Coordinating pair of matching saucers

  • Classic red transferware with intricate natural motifs

  • Perfect for display, vintage tea settings, or collector shelving

  • Pairs beautifully with other pieces from the same pattern family

Condition Grade: Good
Visible glaze crazing and small surface imperfections typical of antique pottery; no cracks or significant chips observed.
