This is a solid oak secretary by Broyhill. When I say solid oak, I mean there are no veneers in the construction. The top does separate from the bottom for easier transportation. It has two rows of shelves. The desk opens and shuts properly and the writing surface is in good shape. The drawer is dovetailed and slides smoothly. It's a great size because there are a lot of spaces it could fit around the home. Be sure to watch our walk around video.
