This beautifully crafted lowboy is made from curly maple with an eye-catching tiger stripe grain, classic Queen Anne cabriole legs, and period brass hardware. It's attributed to Eldred Wheeler, a celebrated American furniture maker renowned for museum-quality reproductions of 18th-century forms.
While the original label is partially missing, the remnant inside the drawer closely resembles known Eldred Wheeler examples. The craftsmanship and construction details support the attribution. It's in remarkably good condition with just light surface wear consistent with age and use. A rare opportunity to own a piece that bridges historic design and fine artisan woodworking.
We acquired this piece from the estate of a retired Mobil Oil executive and his wife, a lifelong antique dealer and refinisher. Every item from their lakefront estate reflects refined taste and long-term care.
