This wonderful antique-style flat-top wooden travel trunk is loaded with rustic charm, decades of visible wear, and the unmistakable appearance of an old-fashioned travel chest. Featuring heavily weathered wood, dark metal reinforcements, and substantial decorative hardware, this is the kind of piece that adds instant personality to a room. Its flat top and generous interior make it as practical as it is visually interesting.

Materials & Craftsmanship
Traditional wooden trunk construction with a warm, naturally aged brown finish, reinforced by dark metal corner protectors, riveted metal bands, and substantial wooden exterior battens. The flat hinged lid features multiple reinforcing strips and decorative metal fittings, while the front retains its original-style latch hardware and central lock plate. The spacious wood-lined interior provides ample room for storing blankets, linens, seasonal decorations, or collectibles. Metal side-handle mounts remain in place, although the original leather carrying handles are missing.

Condition
Antique or vintage condition with extensive wear and patina consistent with age and previous use. The front features numerous deep scratches and scuff marks that resemble animal clawing, giving the trunk an especially rugged appearance. Additional scratches, dents, finish wear, and oxidation are visible throughout the wood and metal fittings. Both original leather side handles are missing, a common issue with older travel trunks. The trunk remains together, and the hinged flat lid opens to reveal a spacious interior. The lock has not been tested, and no key is confirmed. Please review all photographs carefully for condition details.

Dimensions
Approximately 32.5" W × 18.5" D × 21.5" H.

Design Appeal
This is more than an old storage trunk—it's an instant conversation piece! The combination of exposed wood grain, aged metal, heavy patina, and traditional travel trunk construction makes it a natural fit for farmhouse, industrial, rustic, lodge, eclectic, and vintage-inspired interiors.

The flat top makes it especially practical as a unique coffee table, while the generous interior provides concealed storage for blankets, pillows, games, or seasonal items. It would also look wonderful at the foot of a bed, in an entryway, or as part of a vintage-inspired retail display.

For anyone who loves authentic character and furniture with a story to tell, this trunk certainly delivers.

Walk-Around Video
Please watch our walk-around video, when available, for an additional look at the trunk's aged finish, hardware, interior, and overall condition.

Shipping and Delivery

We offer local, regional and national shipping and delivery. Smaller items will be shipped via UPS, Fedex, USPS. We are a white glove “in home” partner with Uship which allows us to ship larger pieces nationwide. Our partnership with Uship gives us access to the highest rated “LTL” (less-than-truckload) shipping companies from around the country. These are independent companies who wrap, transport and set up the furniture in your home. It can take a week to six weeks to get the items booked and delivered to your home. Generally, the time frame depends on where you live. Pieces going to a rural area in Kansas will take longer than pieces being shipped to major metros. Larger, heavier and multiple pieces that require at least two people to move can also affect the time frame. Local delivery areas include Sanford and the surrounding areas. Raleigh, Durham (Triangle Area), Fayetteville, Greensboro, Winston Salem (Triad Area). To see instant shipping and delivery quotes, add the item to the cart then select check out. Click the “Ship” option and fill in your address and the quote will populate.
