Italian Louis XV-style bureau plat writing desk by Rozzoni Mobili d'Arte features intricate wood marquetry, a gold-tooled leather writing surface, and elaborate gilt-bronze-style mounts. Handcrafted in Castel Rozzone, Italy, the desk draws from the French Rococo tradition that flourished during the reign of Louis XV (1715–1774), when the bureau plat became a distinguished form of freestanding writing furniture. Founded in 1959 by Cesarino Rozzoni, the Italian manufacturer specializes in classical European furniture and traditional cabinetmaking. Craze Furniture presents this exceptionally preserved example with its fitted protective glass top and richly detailed construction.
